Dunkirk police recovered a loaded 9 mm handgun at a manufacturing plant on Monday and charged two employees with weapons possession, authorities said.
Responding to the report of workers who had a gun, Dunkirk police confronted Christian O. Marin-Sanchez, 29, and Hector L. Carmona-Burgos, 44, both of Dunkirk. Police found the gun in the front pocket of one of the men, who was given the gun by the other before officers arrived, Dunkirk police said.
Neither man had a pistol permit and each was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said. Police did not identify which man had the gun at the time officers patted them down.
Police did not identify the name or location of the plant where they were called at about 5:45 p.m. Marin-Sanchez was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
