Comedy and sitcom star Thea Vidale is returning to Buffalo for the “Laugh Out Loud Comedy Series” at 9 p.m. April 8 at the Groove Lounge (1210 Broadway).
The comedienne first started performing comedy in Houston, Texas, in 1986. As she progressed, she began working clubs in New York City, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., and toured the rest of the country with her “Down and Dirty” tour in 1999. As a stand-up comedian, Vidale has also appeared on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and TV Guide Network’s “Standup in Stilletos.”
As an actress, Vidale starred in her own BET sitcom, “Thea,” and appeared on “Ellen,” “The Wayans Bros,” “The Drew Carey Show” and “My Wife and Kids.” Professional wrestling fans may also remember Vidale in her role as Shelton Benjamin’s mother in WWE programming.
Vidale is anticipating offering raw opinions on current events during her comedy set.
The "Laugh Out Loud" show will also feature comedians Joe the Boss, Gary Wallace, J.J. Billingsley and host Darnell Davis. Tickets are $25 and are available at the Groove Lounge or eventbrite.com.
