A 27-year-old Ontario County man pleaded guilty in Amherst Town Court to a reduced drug charge stemming from his arrest in the 2000 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard on Oct. 10, 2016, his attorney and court officials confirmed Friday.
Richard P. Brown of Honeoye on Thursday pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor count of criminal possession of controlled substance. Town Justice Geoffrey K. Klein warned Brown he faces a jail term of up to 90 days when he is sentenced April 19.
Mark Sacha, Brown's attorney, got prosecutors to dismiss a variety of more serious charges involving allegations of possessing stolen property and a stolen car, marijuana, and drugs. He said he will ask the judge to consider a time-served sentence since Brown was in custody for about three months and now has a job.
