Get yourself ready for today's #PrepTalkLive action with everything you need to know about the day ahead in high school sports.

What to watch for Friday

1. Boys lacrosse - Niagara Wheatfield at St. Joe's, 5 p.m.

Monsignor Martin champ St. Joe's hosts Class B runner-up Niagara Wheatfield in the top game on Friday's schedule. These two teams met last season, with the Marauders pulling out a 13-9 win.

All-Western New York midfielder Jack Lalley returns to lead St. Joe’s. Kellen Pulera, CJ Goss and Zak Deakin were also All-Catholic last season. The Falcons graduated All-WNYer Evan Printup but do bring back Nate Maloney and Brandon Sveda, among others.

2. Baseball - Kenmore West at Niagara Falls, 4:30 p.m.

The top baseball matchup of the day features Niagara Falls and Kenmore West in a Niagara Frontier League contest. The Wolverines and Blue Devils split their two meetings last year.

Niagara Falls senior Matt Grace hit a three-run home run and pitched a complete game two-hitter with 15 strikeouts in an 11-0 win over North Tonawanda on Tuesday. Kenmore West returns a trio of second team All-NFL members in seniors Ben Serrano and Richard Fries and sophomore Dom Schmidt from last year's 11-8 (9-5 NFL) team.

3. Girls lacrosse - Mount St. Mary at East Aurora, 4:45 p.m.

Last year's Monsignor Martin runner-up Mount St. Mary visits East Aurora in a nonleaguer on Friday.

The Thunder bring back Catholic Offensive MVP in Kaitlyn Hart and All-Catholic first teamer Molly Meegan from last season's 14-6 team. Blue Devils senior Allison Kasprzyk, who was All-ECIC III last season, scored nine goals in a 16-13 season-opening loss at Orchard Park on Wednesday. Sophomore Fiona Kavcic had a goal and four assists.

4. Softball - City Honors at East Aurora, 4:30 p.m. (POSTPONED)

East Aurora hosts City Honors in the season opener for both squads, which played three times last year. They split meetings in the regular season, and City Honors won a 5-4 game in the Class B-1 playoffs to end East Aurora's season.

The Centaurs went 11-2 last year playing an independent schedule. They return All-WNY Small Schools member Jenna Balducci. The Blue Devils were 9-10 last season and return junior pitcher Erin Sullivan, who was All-ECIC III.
