Car strikes pedestrian in Allentown

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning at Elmwood Avenue and Virginia Street in the city's Allentown neighborhood, according to Buffalo police.

The man was running at about 8:10 a.m. on Virginia when the vehicle, which was traveling south on Elmwood Avenue, struck him.

The pedestrian, a 31-year-old Buffalo man, was transported to Buffalo General for non-life threatening injuries, police. The 22-year-old woman motorist who struck him was issued a summons for failing to yield the right of way.
