Niagara Falls duo pleads guilty in burglary where resident was assaulted

LOCKPORT – A man and a woman from Niagara Falls pleaded guilty to felonies Tuesday for a burglary at a Ferry Avenue home where the resident was struck with a tire iron.

Christine M. Harbeson, 46, of Pierce Avenue, faces as long as seven years in prison after admitting to third-degree burglary. Christopher S. Beard, 44, of Niagara Avenue, could spend as much as four years behind bars for his plea to a reduced charge of attempted third-degree burglary. State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. will pass sentence May 18.

Harbeson, who was charged with having the tire iron, and Beard stole tools in the rented home in the 1700 block of Ferry Avenue on May 12.
