Sabres' Okposo ill, not expected to play in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kyle Okposo just returned to the Sabres’ lineup, but he’s leaving it again.

The right winger is ill and not expected to dress in Tuesday’s visit to Columbus. Coach Dan Bylsma said Tuesday that Evander Kane will skate next to Ryan O’Reilly, William Carrier will also move up the lineup and Nicolas Deslauriers will play after sitting five straight games.

Okposo, who was feeling ill during Monday’s victory over Florida, had played in two straight after missing 10 games with a rib injury.

Anders Nilsson will start in goal for the Sabres. He is 0-1 in two appearances against Columbus with an .844 save percentage and 5.26 goals-against average.

Buffalo is feeling good lately after improving to 32-32-12.

“We’ve won four of five and we’ve won two in a row,” Bylsma said in Nationwide Arena. “We got to back to .500 with our win last night, and we want to keep pushing forward with tonight’s game getting above .500.”
