Matchbox Twenty, Counting Crows paired up for Darien Lake

Rock bands Matchbox Twenty and Counting Crows have combined forces for this summer, announcing that their "A Brief History of Everything" tour will stop at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center (9993 Allegheny Road, Darien) on Sept. 11.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. March 31, with prices ranging from $29.50 (lawn) to $99.50, at LiveNation.com, Ticketmaster.com or by phone at 1-800-745-3000. Seating in a preferred lawn area is available for $15 more than the original lawn price, while a lawn four-pack runs for $88.

Like all Darien Lake concerts this summer, tickets to the Matchbox Twenty, Counting Crows show are good for day-of-show amusement park entry, too.

Recap of Darien Lake summer concert announcements so far

Matchbox Twenty's Rob Thomas toured all last summer with Counting Crows, and the pairing worked well enough to schedule a Round Two.

“To be honest, we took a vote after last year and decided to spend every summer with Rob from now on,” said Counting Crows’ Adam Duritz, in a release. “Can. Not. Wait.”
