ANDERSON, William Stewart

ANDERSON, William Stewart

ANDERSON - William Stewart William Stewart Anderson was born February 6, 1926 in Buffalo, NY, the son of Christine (nee MacKay) and Robert H. Anderson. He was a graduate of Bennett High School and the University of Buffalo. Bill was a Navy veteran of WWII and served on Yard Mine Sweeper 159. Bill retired as an Industrial Salesman for Hewitt-Robbins. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Judy O'Leary Anderson; seven children and 15 grandchildren: son Michael (Debbie), Christopher, Eamon, Julia and Katherine; son Mark (Lorraine), Brian, Amanda and Kayla; son Bob Anderson, daughter Mary Ellen (Pat), Jessica, Rebekah and Danika; daughter Anne; son John (Lam), Maryanne, Steven, Will and Kayla and son Brian, Mackenzie; brother of Malcolm (deceased) and Marjorie (Dave) Hering; loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Bill and Judy met nearly 70 years ago at Sherkston Quarry in Canada. They had many wonderful years at the beach and cottage in Ridgeway. Bill could often be found swimming and gathering stones at the beach, playing tennis and bridge with family and friends that were just like family, scraping the cottage with the radio and those peaceful, quiet autumns at the cottage. In Syracuse, you would often see Bill walking through Onondaga Park and playing bridge with friends.
