Narcotics arrest after early morning traffic stop in Amherst

A Buffalo woman was charged with drug possession and a Buffalo man was charged with driving offenses after they were stopped on Main Street in Amherst early Thursday morning.

Monique J. Miller, 21, a passenger in the car stopped at 4:16 a.m. in the 3500 block of Main Street, was charged with a felony count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana, according to Amherst police reports. Tre C. Smitherman, 23, was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving and a traffict ticket.

The car the Buffalo couple was using was towed.
