Fundraiser planned to help pay for Lewiston jazz festival

LEWISTON -- “A Taste of Jazz,” a fundraiser to help keep the annual jazz festival in Lewiston a free event, is scheduled 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 2 at Water Street Landing, 115 S. Water St.

The Jacob Jay Quintet, Carina and the Six String Preacher, and My Cousin Tone’ will perform at the fundraiser. Admission includes entertainment and an array of food donated by area restaurants. The event also features a basket auction, special auction items, 50-50 split, and cash bar.

Tickets for “A Taste of Jazz,” are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and are available at the Lewiston Village Office and Niagara River Region Chamber office, by visiting or by calling 754-9500.

The two-day jazz festival, recently renamed the Northwest Jazz Festival, is planned for Aug. 25-26 along Center Street in Lewiston.
