A man arrested Monday by West Seneca police in connection with a string of burglaries in that town has also caught the notice of Orchard Park police.
Danny N. Butcher, 55, was arrested as the result of anonymous tip within 24 hours of West Seneca police posting his photo on Facebook and Twitter.
In a collaborative effort, detectives from both police agencies met recently to compare surveillance photos of recent commercial burglaries in their respective towns that would appear to link Butcher as a suspect.
Following Butcher's capture Monday at a local restaurant, West Seneca police recovered various items in his possession from a burglary at IRS Help on Seneca Street on Jan. 27, and one at Childtime Daycare on Southwestern Boulevard in Orchard Park on March 6.
A subsequent search of Butcher's residence yielded additional items from the Orchard Park burglary, including a laptop, cellphone and docking station, Orchard Park police said.
West Seneca detectives charged Butcher with two counts of criminal possession of stolen property and trespassing, with additional charges pending. He was held for arraignment and ultimately transported to the Erie County Holding Center as he was unable to post $20,000 bail.
Orchard Park detectives filed charges against Butcher for burglary, grand larceny, petit larceny and possession of burglar’s tools. Butcher was arraigned Tuesday on the Orchard Park charges was due back in Orchard Park Town Court on Friday.
