It's almost spring kitten season, and the Ten Lives Club Cat Adoption group is gearing up.
The club will hold its longest running fundraiser, Furball, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. April 9 at the Knights of Columbus’ Banquet Hall, 36 Pierce Ave., Hamburg.
Founder and President Marie Edwards said Furball is an event in which the shelter and its supporters “spring into action.” The funds raised during Furball help the shelter brace for the influx of kittens that enter the shelter system every spring.
This year’s Furball will continue the traditions of food, including vegetarian and children’s options, and live music. The event also will feature adoptable cats, vending booths, more then 100 theme baskets and a lottery raffle.
Ten Lives Club is a nonprofit cat rescue and adoption agency founded in 2001 which has assisted more than 30,000 cats. Its primary shelter is a 3,500-square-foot facility at 3741 Lake Shore Road, Hamburg, and it operates a number of satellite sites around Erie County, including an adoption site at Walden Galleria Mall.
