A West Seneca man was arrested Monday in connection with a string of burglaries in the town and surrounding suburbs after a local fast food employee alerted police to the man's presence inside a local dining facility.
Danny N. Butcher, 55, was identified within 24 hours of West Seneca police posting his photo on Facebook and Twitter. During the course of their investigation, police found Butcher to be in possession of several items that had been stolen in various burglaries throughout the area. In addition to trespassing, Butcher was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property, which is a misdemeanor, and fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.
Butcher was arraigned and sent to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $20,000 bail. He is due back in court at a later date. West Seneca police are continuing their investigation into Butcher's involvement in other related crimes in the area.
