Insta-Graham: Bronson Koenig provides Wisconsin a great escape in comeback over No. 1 Villanova

In less than four minutes early in the second half, Bronson Koenig picked up his second, third and fourth fouls.

To the Wisconsin bench he went. The senior guard broke the school record for three-pointers in an NCAA Tournament game, but couldn't do the Badgers any good on his rump.

Villanova took advantage for the next eight minutes, but once Koenig returned Wisconsin bounced back to upset the defending national champion Saturday afternoon in KeyBank Center.

Wisconsin and Villanova were tied when Koenig was called for his fourth foul with 13:41 to play. Villanova hadn't led for nearly 20 minutes, but surged ahead by five points with Koenig seated.

Nigel Hayes scraped Wisconsin along until Koenig was summoned with 5:43 left and scored eight on Wisconsin's last 13 points.

Koenig hit back-to-back jumpers, one from behind the arc, to tie the game at 57. He hit another three to give Wisconsin a 62-59 lead with two minutes to go.
