The driver of a vehicle that went off the exit ramp of Route 219 in Orchard Park Friday night was charged with aggravated drunken driving, Orchard Park police reported.
Orchard Park officers responded to the Route 20A exit ramp about 10:45 pm. and discovered that the driver might be intoxicated. Officers gave the driver several field sobriety tests, which he failed.
The driver was taken to the Orchard Park Police Department, where he was given a breathalyzer test that showed his blood alcohol content was . 24 percent, three times the legal limit.
Police also determined that Michael Lamonte, 46, of Boston was convicted of driving while intoxicated in Erie County in 2011.
Lamonte was charged with aggravated DWI, a felony. He was released after posting $520 bail and is to appear in Orchard Park town court on March 28.
