Eden man ticketed at Buffalo airport after loaded gun found in carry-on

An Eden man was ticketed Thursday afternoon for possessing a gun in his luggage at Buffalo Niagara International Airport, according to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority.

Douglas Hage, 61, was detained at about 5 p.m. after a loaded .40-caliber handgun was found in his carry-on bag during a screening by Transportation Security Administration personnel, an NFTA spokesman said.

The NFTA Transit Authority Police took possession of the gun and Hage, who missed his flight, was allowed to rebook his flight. Hage, who had a state gun permit, was issued a notice of violation and faces a $75 fine.
