Xbox chargers recalled

And you thought it was just your "Halo" skills that were hot.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission and video game accessories maker PDP have issued a recall for more than 120,000 game controller chargers. PDP's Energizer Xbox One 2X Smart Charger have been found to overheat, melting their plastic casing, damaging the controller and posing a burn hazard. Only chargers with the item number 048-052-NA printed on the bottom are affected.

There have been 30 reports associated with the chargers overheating, melting and "emitting a burning odor" according to the CPSC. In addition to the chargers sold in the United States, another 7,250 were sold in Canada. The devices were sold for about $40 at Best Buy, GameStop and, among other retailers, from February 2016 through February 2017.

Consumers should stop using the product and contact PDP for a full refund at 1-800-263-1156.
