Zumba marathon will raise money for Make-A-Wish

More than 600 dancers are expected to Zumba to benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation on Sunday, March 12 at Tonawanda Castle, 69 Delaware Ave. Doors open for the annual Zumbathon at 11 a.m. and two hours of the energetic dance fitness program will begin at 2 p.m.

The mother and daughter event organizers, Cindy and Marisa Stani, said 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated directly to the community. Last year the event  raised $25,500, which allowed Make-a-Wish to grant three local wishes. Over the past four years Zumbathon has made enough to grant nearly ten local wishes - which have included international vacations, princess experiences, and a shopping spree.

At the event, there will be dozens of vendors, hundreds of auction items and baskets, a photo booth, as well as a chance to meet Make-A-Wish children and their families.

Pre-sale tickets are available online for $16 and will also be available at the door.

Tonawanda Castle donated the venue space and Premier Party Productions will provide lighting and sound. Balloons over Buffalo is the decor sponsor and Zumba is providing international dance stars for the event.
