New cask ales at Buffalo Brewing Company
Buffalo Brewing Company (314 Myrtle Ave.) is launching a series of cask ales at the brewery, beginning with its Irish Red ale. The casks will be available for the St. Patrick's Day parades in the Old First Ward and downtown. The brewery will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 11 with $4 pints of the Irish Red ale, and 32-ounce crowlers are three for $20.
On March 12, the same deal is on, and the hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to this beer, the brewery also has its 1789 ESB (Extra Special Bitter) ale now on tap in its tasting room. Call 868-2218.
More Deep Cut at Big Ditch
The second release of Deep Cut double IPA (India Pale Ale) is going down at 11 a.m. March 11 Big Ditch Brewing Company (55 E. Huron St.). This time, the brewery has slightly less to sell with only about 75 to 100 cases will be available.
On March 18, it will also be releasing another 75 to 100 cases. The beer will be on draft in the brewery and available for growler fills. The brewery expects to continue canning Deep Cut about once per month. Call 854-5050.

NYBP's new Irish Red
New York Beer Project (6933 S. Transit Road, Lockport) is releasing a St. Patrick’s Day-themed beer just in time for the festivities. Dublin the Funn Irish Red ale will be released on March 16 at the brewery.
The brewery is also offering $2.50 pints of its Lockport Lager and Gameday Belgian White ale on March 16 to go along with March Madness. Free tours will be offered at 2 and 5 p.m. March 16 and 17. Call 743-6927.

Hamburg Brewing debuts American Pale Ale
Hamburg Brewing Company (6553 Boston State Road, Hamburg) has launched its first American Pale Ale. This light and hoppy style clocks in at 5.5 percent alcohol by volume and features experimental X331 hops, which yield notes of key lime.
Additionally, the brewery is selling “I’m Drinking Irish!” long-sleeve shirts in the taproom and on its webstore throughout March. Call 649-3249.
Pinball fun at CBW
Community Beer Works (15 Lafayette Ave.) is incorporating some pinball into the mix. From March 9 to 11, there will be four pinball machines at the brewery. Half of all the proceeds from the coin drops will go to Pinball EDU, an organization which promotes learning and social skills through pinball.
The brewery also is releasing a new beer on March 9 - Rage Tile American Pale Ale, made with Amarillo, Galaxy and Azacca hops for lots of citrus and tropical fruit flavor (5.5 percent ABV). One dollar from each pint of Rage Tilt will be donated throughout the weekend.
Additionally, the crew from local enthusiast group Buffalo Pinball will be live broadcasting on Twitch from the brewery. The weekend culminates with a charity tournament from noon to 7 p.m. March 11. Registration for the tournament is just $1 (which goes toward the charity) and includes raffle tickets for special prizes. Prizes will also be awarded for best scores. Call 759-4677.
Two new beers from Resurgence
Resurgence Brewing Company (1250 Niagara St.) is launching two beers. One is a returning champion: Cucumber Saison (4.5 percent ABV) won a bronze award at the Craft Beer Awards in Bend, Ore. recently. With notes of cucumbers, dill and pickles, it’s a refreshing spring choice.
The other beer is Lovechild, a beer born out of blending experiments at the brewery which has notes of cinnamon, toffee, chocolate and French toast. This beer is a heavy hitter, clocking in at 8 percent ABV. Call 381-9868.
Thin Man joins in on Péché Day
Thin Man Brewery (492 Elmwood Ave.) is participating in Dieu du Ciel! Péché Day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on March 11. Dieu du Ciel! is a brewery based in Montréal, Quebec. The annual Péché Day occurs when the brewery, along with 40 hand-selected bars across the world, tap the same special versions of the brewery’s imperial coffee stout, Péché Mortel.
In addition to the classic version on tap, variants include a special 2016 version, Peach Mortel and a 2017 version brewed with coffee and peaches, Péché Véniel (a 6.5 percent ABV lighter version of Péché Mortel). Call 923-4100.
