Man, 22, shot outside Niagara Falls corner store

NIAGARA FALLS - A 22-year-old man was shot in the leg Tuesday afternoon after leaving a convenience store near the corner of 18th Street and Linwood Avenue, police said.

Three shots were fired at about 4 p.m., with one of the bullets striking the victim in the thigh, Niagara Falls Police Chief of Detectives Kelly J. Rizzo said in an email. The victim was taken to Erie County Medical Center and released Tuesday night.

The male suspect, who got into a gray SUV and left the scene, was described as wearing a black hoodie and mask, Rizzo said.

Police are continuing to investigate.
