Fleet Feet adds walking program to its running prep offerings

Fleet Feet Sports will add a new walking program to its running regimen of programs starting this weekend.

Fleet Feet has offered the "No Boundaries: Learn to Run Program" for more than a decade. Starting Saturday, it will offer a 12-week WalkFIT Program for those who are new to exercise and who just want to walk.

The program is designed to help participants gain confidence, strength, endurance and heightened overall fitness, said Buffalo and Rochester location owners Ellen Brenner and David "Boots" Boutillier.

No Boundaries: Learn to Run offers three levels of programs for those interested in training for running distances of 5K and beyond. The WalkFIT program is designed for those who want to begin a regimented walking program.  Each has coaches who lead workouts and educate new walkers and runners about stretching, nutrition, and injury prevention.

Those interested are welcome to two free informational sessions at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at the Buffalo store, 2290 Delaware Ave.
