Four Buffalo men arrested after gunshots fired near a bar

Four Buffalo men were arrested after a brief car chase early Sunday after allegedly firing gunshots near a bar. After police officers on routine patrol heard gunshots near a bar in the 2200 block of Genesee Street about 3 a.m. they conferred with a bouncer at that bar.

That led to the arrests after a brief car chase onto Sprenger Avenue of:

Lamont Cooper, 24, of Bissell Avenue; Gibran Johnson, 25, of Mulberry Street; Emmanuel Humphrey, 29, of Doat Street and Eric Mallory, 27 of Miller Street.

All were charged with felony counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon for the black revolver found in their vehicle and first-degree reckless endangerment. They were also charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and two plastic containers of marijuana allegedly were found in their car.

The bar bouncer told police the four had been denied entry to his establishment and went to Humason Avenue and Genesee Street and began firing multiple gunshots, according to an arrest report.
