Two men were arrested on drug charges early Thursday after an Erie County Sheriff's deputies stopped their car in Springville, officials said. Deputies stopped the car on West Main Street and Route 219 at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday for an unspecified vehicle and traffic violation and discovered that the driver, Logan Shearer, 21, of Olean did not have a driver's license.
The passenger, Jamar Mills, 22, of Buffalo "began making erratic movements," according to a statement from the sheriff's office. Mills "attempted to lock the vehicle's doors, refused to listen to police commands and finally resisted the Deputies," the statement said. Mills was then taken into custody.
A search of the vehicle turned up a bag of heroin, officials said. The deputies also found a bag of cocaine on Mills, officials said.
Shearer and Mills were both charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Mills was also charged with obstruction of governmental administration and resisting arrest. Shearer was also given a traffic ticket.
Both men were transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending their arraignments in Village Court.
