Canisius freshman forward Nick Hutchison was named to the Atlantic Hockey All-Rookie Team.
Hutchison tied for the league lead in rookie scoring with 20 points on nine goals and 11 assists. The freshman ranked third on the team in scoring and helped the Golden Griffins secure their first regular season title.
Canisius earned a first-round bye and will host the lowest remaining seed after this weekend's first-round series in the conference quarterfinals. That best-of-three will be at HarborCenter beginning Friday, March 10.
Also on the Atlantic Hockey All-Rookie team were forwards Dominic Franco (Army West Point) and Ryner Gorowsky (Bentley) and defensemen Adam Brubacher (RIT) and Alex Wilkinson (Army West Point). Brubacher was the only player voted on this year’s team to receive all 10 possible first-place votes. He was tied with Hutchison for rookie scoring and ranked second among all conference defensemen with 20 points (six goals, 14 assists).
