There are openings for two members on the Tonawanda City School District's Board of Education. The election for school board seats and the budget vote will be held on May 16.
Terms are for three-years and elected members will served from from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020.
Board member application packets are available in the Tonawanda City School District Board of Education office, 100 Hinds St. Applications must be completed by April 26 and applicants must submit petitions signed by at least 100 eligible, qualified voters.
Qualified applicants must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, a resident of the district for one school year prior to the election and be able to read and write.
The Erie County Association of School Boards will present a workshop for prospective school board candidates from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4 at Erie 1 BOCES, 355 Harlem Road, West Seneca.
