The Town of Hamburg has joined Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Depew, the Town of Tonawanda and other municipalities in suspending its winter overnight parking ban.
Supervisor Steven Walters conferred with Police Chief Gregory Wickett and Highway Superintendent Tom Best Sr. on Monday night, and they agreed that it is not needed with the mild weather. The ban was to be lifted April 1.
Walters noted that many of those lifting the ban, including the Village of Kenmore, are in the northtowns.
If there is a major snowstorm in the next several weeks, residents will be told through the Code Red notification system to have cars off town roads in the overnight hours, town officials said.
