Why won’t the GOP admit Obamacare is worth fixing?
So, over the past six or seven years, Republicans in Congress have voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act some 60 times, in the safety of their knowledge that President Barack Obama would veto the bill. Since winning the presidency and retaining both houses of Congress, no votes to repeal the ACA.
President Trump campaigned on “repealing every word of Obamacare on day one.” So far, crickets. Why can’t the GOP just admit that it’s a good plan, which Obama himself admitted had flaws and wanted GOP help to fix? The Republicans’ response was to rile up their base with votes to repeal it. Congratulations, GOP, you caught the car.
