No charges will be filed against former Sabres forward Andrew Peters for his involvement in a brawl during a youth hockey tournament at the HarborCenter Saturday, Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced Tuesday.
Peters, 36, of Hamburg, who is the coach of the Junior Sabres team, was suspended Sunday from coaching indefinitely after video of the incident surfaced.
“We have reviewed the case and have spoken to the parents of the young man involved in the incident,” says Flynn. “They tell us they don’t want to pursue criminal charges against Peters. As a result, our office won’t be taking any further legal action at this time.”
Flynn said in a statement that in the video "Peters appears to have pushed a player on the opposing team."
