Columbus McKinnon, an Amherst-based material handling equipment maker, named Mark D. Morelli as its new president and CEO.
Morelli succeeds Timothy T. Tevens, who announced in September he would retire.
Morelli, 53, most recently served as president and CEO of Massachusetts-based Brooks Automation from 2012 to 2016. Prior to that, he had roles with Energy Conversion Devices and United Technologies. Morelli began his career as an Army officer and helicopter pilot.
“Columbus McKinnon is an industry leader with excellent brands, strong customer relationships and a long, well-established history," Morelli said in a statement.
Tevens joined Columbus McKinnon in 1991 and has served as president and CEO since 1998. He has agreed to continue to support the company as an adviser.
