Artwork from students of the Cheektowaga Central School District will be on display at Cheektowaga Town Hall and Senior Center during the months of February, March and April.
“I wanted to do something that would involve the many talented students and children of our town, as well as something that would encourage families to visit Cheektowaga Town Hall to see what is happening in our community,” said Diane Benczkowski, Cheektowaga supervisor. “I know the residents of our community will feel such great pride, as I do, when they see the beautiful work created by the children.”
In 2014, Benczkowski served as chairwoman of the town's Arts and Culture Committee and met with Cheektowaga school districts to determine how to showcase the achievements of local students while familiarizing them with town government.
The result was “Students Making Art,” and this year it involves 70 students in grades kindergarten through 12, who were selected by their teachers to display artwork.
Cheektowaga Town Hall is located at 3301 Broadway. It is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Senior Center is located at 3349 Broadway and is open from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.
