A train struck a woman late Tuesday night near the foot of Schutrum Street, according to Buffalo police.
She was struck just before midnight and taken to Erie County Medical Center where she was undergoing surgery for what were described as serious injuries, police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge said in an email. Schutrum Street runs off Broadway just west of Bailey Avenue.
The woman, whose identity was not released by police, was found near the CSX Transportation's Frontier Yard at about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday by a crew on a Canadian National train, CSX spokesman Rob Doolittle said in an email.
