Hilbert's radio station takes flight, again

The HAWK is flying high again at Hilbert College.

HAWK Radio, a web-based radio station that was grounded and silent for most of last year, is again spinning tunes for the Hamburg campus. The college station resumed webcasts this past January with new webcasting software and a new location inside Hilbert's Digital Media and Communication lab.

The station plays modern hip-hop, rock and country, while also providing weekly specialty political and sports talk shows. It can be found at There are plans to webcast the college's athletic events, as well.

The station, originally launched in 2011, was inactive for most of last year because former streaming provider Live365 ceased operations. HAWK Radio currently uses servers by SHOUTcast.
