Police increase patrols in Allentown after weekend attack on two men

Buffalo police they have increased patrols in Allentown after two gay men reported they were assaulted outside an Allentown pizzeria over the weekend.

Police Commissioner Daniel Derenda said detectives in the Central District were "making progress" in the investigation, he said.

Two gay men attacked outside Allentown pizzeria

The two men said that at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Allen Street, near Elmwood Avenue, a group of unidentified males called them derogatory names and punched one of the men in the face and pushed the other to the ground. A witness was also punched and needed two stitches.

Derenda urged anyone with information about the incident to call 847-2255.
