Volunteers brightened Valentine’s Day for vets
My husband had an appointment at the Buffalo VA Medical Center on Valentine’s Day. Walking into the hospital was a pleasant surprise. There were ladies in red coats, volunteers, handing out valentine bags to the veterans who came in that day.
In the bag were handmade valentines from children in grade school, thanking the veterans for their service. The bags also had candy and, at the bottom of the bag, “In memory of Capt. Bob Bager,” the soldier who gave his life.
What a picture of these veterans receiving these precious bags. They were hugging the bags. That was the most precious moment. I will always remember what the hospital did on Valentine’s Day for these precious guys and women. All through the hospital there were smiling faces.
God bless everyone at the VA hospital for all they do for our veterans.
