Niagara Falls man takes plea deal in teen sex video case

LOCKPORT – Teron D. Moore, a felon who was charged with having sex with a 14-year-old girl and recording it on cellphone video, took a plea offer Thursday in Niagara County Court.

Teron D. Moore

Moore, 31, of Ninth Street, Niagara Falls, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted second-degree criminal sexual act. Judge Matthew J. Murphy III pledged to give him the minimum sentence: two years in prison plus 15 years of post-release supervision. Murphy will officially impose the sentence May 25. Moore remains in the county jail without bail.

Moore, previously convicted of felony drug possession and violating a restraining order, admitted that he had sexual contact with the girl on June 4 in Niagara Falls. The video was discovered by Moore's girlfriend, to whom he gave his phone after being arrested June 16 on an unrelated assault charge. However, when police connected the phone to a recorder, the video started to erase itself.
