A Lackawanna man was sentenced Wednesday to 27 months in prison for bank robbery.
Ronald A. McCarter Jr., 25, was convicted in the Oct. 29, 2015, robbery of the Key Bank on Broadway Avenue in Lancaster.
McCarter entered the bank and approached a teller and passed a note demanding cash and cautioned not to make any sudden movements, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan T. Cullinane, who handled the case. McCarter was identified through bank surveillance photos, Cullinane said.
McCarter's sentencing by U.S. District Court Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo was the culmination of an investigation by the FBI, under the direction on the part of Special Agent-in-Charge Adam S. Cohen, and the Lancaster Police Department, under the direction of Chief Gerald Gill, the U.S. Attorney's office said.
