The Independent Health Family Branch YMCA will host its fifth annual Zumbathon from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday to support of the Buffalo Niagara YMCA’s 2017 Annual Campaign.
This family-friendly event includes high-energy music, fitness, and fun. The Oasis Dance Center will present belly dancing demonstrations from 6:30 to 7 p.m., followed by a Zumbathon led by Y instructors.
Children ages 10 and older are welcome to participate and a donation of $20 is asked of adult guests. There will also be a basket raffle and door prizes during the event.
You do not have to be a YMCA member to attend.
Funds raised will help support the Y’s mission to serve all, regardless of ability to pay.
The annual campaign runs through April 6 and seeks to grow the branch’s outreach and impact by raising $130,000.
“It makes everyone feel good to know they are not only helping a child attend camp or an adult learn about disease prevention, but that they're also making an impact on their personal fitness,” Independent Health Family Branch Y Senior Program Director Katarina Manuse said in a news release.
For more information or to make a donation, call the Y at 839-2543 or stop in to the branch at 150 Tech Drive, alongside Erie Community College North Campus in Amherst.
