Want a great way to keep the kids from climbing the walls at home? Take them to jump their little hearts out at Get Air in Cheektowaga. Yes, they absolutely will be jumping for joy. I can pretty much guarantee it.
We are a fairly non-traditional family - as in our kids are 21, 20, 5 and 2. So finding something for everyone is a bit of a challenge. We found it at Get Air.
Get Air is basically a huge room with trampolines everywhere. The good thing is the little ones have their own trampoline area to keep them safe. No adults can jump here but parents stay close by. There is a foam pit, which was a favorite for my little sweeties. Then there's a bigger one for bigger kids and adults. Trampolines are broken into little sections to give each person a place to leap.
The building is huge, and was fairly empty when we were there in the middle of the weekday. There are plenty of friendly staffers to make sure everyone is following rules and staying safe.
You do have to follow these rules:
- Wear Get Air's reusable grip socks for jumping (available in five sizes for $3).
- No climbing on walls or netting.
- No rough housing.
- No diving into foam pits.
- You must sign a waiver before you can jump.
There is a dodge ball court (no little ones allowed), basketball court and ninja course which is super fun for kids. Emma, 5, spent quite a bit of time here. You can climb the rock wall, swing from the ropes and try your best at walking a tight rope. There is padding everywhere so even if the little ones fall, they're not likely to get hurt.
They have lockers and shelves to keep your stuff while you jump. They also have a few vending machines for snacks and drinks. (Most are cash only.) The restrooms are clean.
For a large family it can get pricey. That being said, it is a fun, unique and fairly exhausting way to spend time. My big girls and little girls had a blast and certainly burned off some of their energy. We were there for an hour and my girls were exhausted afterward.
A few things to keep in mind:
- You can order your tickets and fill out the waiver online, that will mean no waiting in line when you get there.
- Toddler time is from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Thursday. Cost is $6 per child per hour, parents jump free.
- Save your socks so you don't have to buy them during future visits.
