University at Buffalo football coach Lance Leipold is bringing back a former confidant to join his coaching staff.
Jim Zebrowski, who spent three seasons as Leipold’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Wisconsin-Whitewater, has agreed to come to UB as quarterbacks coach, sources report. Zebrowski fills the spot created when running backs coach Matt Simon left to become offensive coordinator at Delaware. UB offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, who also coached quarterbacks the past two years, will shift his positional responsibilities to running backs. Kotelnicki was offensive coordinator at Whitewater for two years before coming to UB with Leipold. The website UBBullrun.com first reported the move.
After serving at Whitewater from 2007 to 2009, Zebrowski spent five seasons as quarterbacks coach at the University of Minnesota. Last season he was assistant head coach and offensive coordinator at Division III Hamline in St. Paul, Minn. Prior to Whitewater, Zebrowski was head coach at Division III Lakeland College in Wisconsin. He played at Ohio’s Mount Union.
