The Buffalo Museum of Science will host “Get Out Your Guitar Day” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The national holiday, which celebrates guitars and guitarists of all genres, will be presented in conjunction with the traveling exhibit “GUITAR: The Instrument That Rocked The World,” at the Humboldt Parkway museum through May 7.
Chris “The Bulldog” Parker, of Schopp & The Bulldog on WGR-AM 550 Sports Radio, who also is a music buff, will be on-site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Buffalo Music Hall of Fame member Dick Bauerle will present “Sounds of the Guitar” through the decades from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oogie Games will be on-site with the Guitar Hero video game and guests are encouraged to bring their guitars and show off their skills throughout the day.
In partnership with the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame, Michael Hund (HOF Class of 1992) will present “The Fender Tail ... a History of Fender guitars,” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.
Guests will also be able to play a guitar through a deluxe reverb amp and receive a free Fender guitar pick.
