After a fire destroyed the Beaver Island State Park golf course pro shop in 2012, New York State Parks invested $2.6 million to rebuild it. With the new shop recently completed, state parks is now seeking proposals for an experienced partner to operate the shop, pro services and concessions in the shop and on the course for five years.
Proposals must be submitted by Feb. 22 to the State Parks office. Copies of the state's request for proposals can be obtained by contacting Julianna Donner at (716) 278-1746 or online at www.nyscr.ny.gov.
The state is seeking a partner to provide for the sale and rental of golf-related equipment, including a fleet of 48 carts, sell golfing merchandise and offer golf instruction.
New York also wants its partner to operate a food and beverage service in the pro shop cafe and light snack carts on the course. The food, beverage and catering concession does not include the Beaver Island State Park Clubhouse, located near the beach in a separate location.
Beaver Island Golf Course is a USGA-recognized championship 18-hole, par-72 public course located on about 950 acres on Grand Island.
