Travel has not improved condition of BMHA units
In response to The News article about the Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority, after all the conferences and seminars attended by the director, there should be some clear results in the knowledge and connections gained. With the reported condition of the public housing stock, it seems that the money spent for conferences and travel have clearly not changed a thing. Federal funds are important, but the operating funds of the BMHA, usually derived from rents, could be used in more efficient ways. Maybe it is time to privatize the system or contract the operation to a firm that is expert in this field.
