Let’s hope Republicans stand up to the president
If just three or four Republican senators took a stand on President Trump’s deeply problematic Cabinet appointments and, more broadly, in opposition to his bad ideas – the ones that fail to represent either traditional Republican or Democratic ideals – they would not only end up on the right side of history, they would also become the most powerful members of the U.S. Senate.
All they have to do is act as if they believe what they said about Trump nine months ago. In the short term, this seems like the most promising way to make America great again.
