Residents in the Chautauqua County Village of Cherry Creek will decide whether to dissolve their village Thursday.
Voting takes place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the fire hall, 6763 Main St.
A petition in favor of dissolving the village, which has a population of about 440, was filed last November. Should the village be merged into the Town of Cherry Creek, it is expected that special districts for sewer and water would be established for current village residents.
Cherry Creek is located about 52 miles south of Buffalo.
Residents in the Erie County Village of Depew voted overwhelmingly Jan. 17 to keep their village government intact, rejecting a proposal to merge with the towns of Lancaster and Cheektowaga.
