ESPN will salute the career of Chris Berman with a one-hour special on Thursday night. "Chris Berman: He Did Go All the Way" will air at 10:30 p.m. on the cable network.
Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith and Marv Levy play a role in the special, talking about the Buffalo Bills' glory days and the special bond that some of the Bills' stars developed with the broadcaster nicknamed "Boomer."
Berman reminisced about those days in an interview with The Buffalo News in October.
Some other sports figures who appear on the Berman special are Bill Belichick, Dwight Clark, Peyton Manning, Joe Namath and Cal Ripken Jr. Keith Olbermann, Dan Patrick, Robin Roberts and Tom Jackson also chime in.
After 31 years as an NFL studio host, Berman is transitioning into a new role with the network. He will no longer host the NFL Draft or baseball Home Run Derby on the network, but will contribute to a number of network programs.
