The campaign against development in the Elmwood Village is about to pick up some steam, with community leaders ready to distribute bright red signs for residents to display in their yards.
The new signs will be distributed this evening, according to an email from Lancaster Avenue Block Club President Gretchen Cercone, one of the campaign's leaders and a fierce opponent of proposed new development plans by Ciminelli Real Estate Corp. and Chason Affinity Companies.
The signs proclaim "No Wrecking Ball! Enforce the Green Code" in white lettering against a red backdrop of a building. The signs will be free for residents, thanks to a fundraising effort that will cover the printing cost, according to the email.
