Tim Hortons customers in Canada will be able to skip the cashier's line starting this spring.
Parent company Restaurant Brands International, which also owns Burger King, is launching a smartphone app that will allow customers to place and pay for orders. Burger King will get an order-and-pay app, too.
The company has been testing the app at 25 Tim Hortons locations in Ontario and 25 Burger King location in Miami since December. Once the app is released, it can be used at about 4,000 Tim Hortons and Burger King locations across Canada.
There's no word on when the company plans to roll out the app at its United States locations.
