Jim Jefferies brings 'Unusual Punishment' to UB

It’s probably just a coincidence, but comedian Jeff Jefferies is set to visit Buffalo in February as part of his “Unusual Punishment” tour.

The Australian funny man first came to prominence after he was attacked onstage while performing. That story made it into his DVD special, “Contraband,” and he later gained even greater fame after an HBO comedy special. His observational and blunt comedy runs a gauntlet of subjects, from sex and marriage to religion and guns.

Jefferies created and starred in his own FX series, “Legit,” which ran for two seasons from 2013-14. The comedian debuted his seventh special, “Freedumb,” on Netflix last summer. His latest tour promises to include new material for his fans, as “Unusual Punishment” kicked off in North America last summer.

Jefferies is set to perform at 8 p.m. Feb. 2 at the University at Buffalo's Center for the Arts. Tickets are $39.50 and $49.50 (box office, tickets.com, ubcfa.org).
