The National Weather Service issued a lake-effect snow advisory Sunday evening for northern Niagara and Orleans counties.
Meteorologists are forecasting accumulations between 3 to 6 inches - mainly north of Route 104 - that will create heavy periods of snow, slick roads and poor visibility at times.
The advisory will last into the overnight hours until 2 a.m. Monday.
Little to no snow is in the forecast for metro Buffalo the remainder of the day on Monday, when the high temperatures are expected to reach in the low- to mid-20s, said Jeff Wood, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Buffalo.
The next chance for snow across the region could come on Tuesday, Wood said.
